Welcome to the Interlending and Document Supply guide.

Interlending and Document Supply (IDS) helps Lancaster University staff and students access information resources which the library does not own or subscribe to electronically.

You can request books, journal articles, chapters from books, conference papers, music scores, patents, standards, reports and whole issues of journals in English and other languages. If we can't obtain a resource in this country, we can go abroad for it.

We can't obtain unpublished documents and archives. Expensive market reports are seldom available on loan. Books published before 1900, maps, DVDs and videos can be tricky. Please come and talk to us about what you need and we will be happy to advise.

We will not obtain books and journals which are in stock in Lancaster University Library, unless they are officially missing.
