Electronic theses at Lancaster University

From academic session 2011/2012 all research postgraduate students are required to deposit one printed copy and one electronic copy of their thesis. 

Those  who enrolled before October 2011 are not required to archive their thesis, but are invited to do so. Members of staff who wish to deposit a thesis submitted to another university are also welcome to deposit a copy here.

This site provides full details of the process. The sections in the tabs above provide details on what you need to do and the various aspects of the process. Please read through each section before following the instructions on depositing your thesis. If you need help with any aspect of the process please contact us via email.

Copyright section: Details of what you need to do if you are including third party copyright material in your thesis or if you wish to include in your thesis work you yourself have published, e.g. journal articles.

Restrictions section: Information on the options for restricting access to your thesis for a limited period of time.

Format section: Details of how to convert your thesis to PDF and other information relating to format, including production of the print version of your thesis.

Deposit section: How to deposit your thesis in the institutional repository.

Information for supervisors: Advice for supervisors on issues students may raise.

FAQs section: Frequently asked questions - A summary of commonly asked questions relating to electronic theses.

Theses and Dissertations - General Information: Information on where to find out about theses and dissertations at other universities in the UK and abroad, the British Library's EThOS service, and theses in progress.

 

Lancaster Theses Service

The Lancaster Theses Service contains the electronic full text of many doctoral theses awarded at Lancaster University.

For a full listing of Lancaster theses and dissertations, please use the Library catalogue.

Lancaster University thesis regulations

You can find the full official Lancaster University regulations on theses in the latest edition of the Manual of Academic Regulations and Procedures, which is often referred to as MARP. You should use the version of MARP in force at the time when you registered.
