Why do I need to use journals?

Journals are important for finding:

  • the most up-to date research on a topic
  • coverage of a specialised subject
  • original research, experiments and in-depth analysis

The Library subscribes to over 40,000 unique electronic journals. Search or browse the A-Z list of eJournals

How do I find Journal articles?

Use OneSearch to find and access all the journals available from the Library.

Search tips for OneSearch:

  • Select the Articles & More tab then enter some keywords which describe the subject you are researching, or the specific article you are looking for.
  • Once your results have been returned, you can use the Refine My Results option to show just Articles.

Ranked Journal Lists

Within the business and management discipline there are a number of journal rankings that list titles you may want to search or browse. Below are online lists for two major rankings: 

Financial Times (FT) Top 50 Journals

Chartered Association of Business Schools (CABS) Academic Journal Guide (Please note, you will need to register in order to gain access to this list)

Additional resources for members of LUMS

The Library provides access to a wide range of databases which are available to all members of the University.

Google Scholar is a search engine that indexes the content of scholarly material published on the Web and in electronic books and journals.
