  • Continence Foundation
  • Red Cross - for wheelchair hire and toilet aids
  • Skiggle -  rehomes medical and disability devices, equipment and feeds no longer required by the owners recycling instead of landfill
  • BIBIC - supports up to age 25 with therapies for development
  • Tree of hope - helps young people up to 25 fundraise  for equipment they couldn't normally get from the NHS
  • Syndromes without a name (SWAN) - for those undiagnosed who may wish to meet with others in a similar situation.

General

Disability Campaigns

  • Universal Credit - New rules coming out in December about claiming Universal Credit and recommendations for disabled students.
  • DSA Claim it Campaign 
  • Changing Places  providing places for disabled users to change and toilet who require beds and hoists. There is currently no facility like this for those who cannot weight bear to change on campus. This is a campaign to have such facilities installed and is now a requirement for any new builds.
  • https://dontscreenusout.org/ - Did you know that with the pre-natal screening for disabilities such as Down's Syndrome that it is still legal for a baby to be aborted right up to entering the birth canal if they are disabled.  This is illegal after 24 weeks for any other baby and this is a campaign currently taking place to make this illegal.

  • Dyslexia - petition to revise the policy to have teachers use Systematic Synthetic Phonics for the sole method to teach reading
