Faculty librarians for Health and Medicine are available to meet staff and students for one to one appointments to discuss:
literature searching
using databases
using reference management software, such as EndNote.
Appointments can be over the phone or online using Zoom or Microsoft Teams.
You will receive an initial confirmation email to your Lancaster University email address. This will be followed up with an email specifying room details, or a link to the online meeting. It may be possible to arrange a meeting outside of these times. Contact facultylibrarians@lancaster.ac.uk

Searching EMBASE on OVID
This video tutorial describes how to search EMBASE using the OVID platform. It has been produced by a trainer at OVID Product Training, and as such is very detailed and comprehensive.
There are 4 search modes at your disposal:
Basic search: a quick way to search
Advanced search: with or without mapping to subject headings (EMTREE). Use this for keyword searching
Search tools: explore and choose subject headings in the EMTREE thesaurus. Use this for subject headings
Search fields: explore and search within the many different fields in EMBASE
