Leisure Reading & Wellbeing Books: Libby audiobooks, ebooks & online magazines

Getting Started with Libby

Lancaster University staff and students can get free access to thousands of ebooks, audiobooks and magazines with Libby, the Library reading app!

To get started:

  1. Open the Libby website on your browser or download the app to your phone or tablet.
  2. Click 'Sign In With My Card' > 'Next' > enter your usual Lancaster University username and password.
  3. Browse our library's catalogue, then borrow a book or audiobook or open a magazine.

Borrowing:

Borrowed titles appear on your Shelf . You'll also find your magazine subscriptions and kept magazines on the magazine rack on your Shelf.

  • Borrow up to 3 ebooks or audiobooks at a time
  • Place up to 3 holds at a time
  • Borrow ebooks and audiobooks for 14 days

Downloads:

Book and audiobook loans are downloaded to the phone and mobile app automatically when you're connected to Wi-Fi, so you can read them when you're offline. To save space on your device, magazines don't automatically download, but you can manually download individual issues. It is not possible to download ebooks, audiobooks or magazines when using Libby on your browser.

Collection:

Library staff have curated reading lists on a variety of topics including LGBTQ+Wellbeing and Self-HelpComics and Graphic Novels and more!
