Resource Lists: A guide for staff

A toolkit for academic and professional services staff.

News

August 2024:  You will see a change to Leganto with a new user interface (the Resource List platform) and the Library is currently reviewing the new interface in preparation for the switchover.

When will Lancaster University switch to the new interface?

5th August 2024

Why is this happening?

The Resource List vendor is introducing a new user interface (UI) to improve the user experience for students, academics, and librarians, aimed at enhancing the learner journey.

How will the changes affect me?

You will notice a change in the look of the Resource List, but most of the functionality will remain the same and has been enhanced to simplify common tasks with a clearer layout.  Any lists that are already on the platform will still be available in the new interface.  All existing Resource Lists will rollover to your new module codes and staff will not need to take any action unless they are creating a new list or updating their existing list.  All existing links will remain active and staff can continue to collaborate on lists, add library content, as well as online content such as videos, podcasts and websites.  Some changes you might notice are improved formatting for public notes (bold, italic, underline, and URLs).

About this guide

The guide includes links to resources demonstrating practice and guiding principles observed in other institutions, with practical issues to consider when developing your Resource Lists.
