The default search in OneSearch is Everything. You can change this to Books and more, Articles and more or Full text online once you have run your search.

Books

All books are listed on the library discovery platform OneSearch. Use this to track down the resources you need, clicking on Find & Request to find where the book is kept in the Library (classmark and type, eg book, oversize book) and if it is currently available, or on View Online if it is an e book.

All print books are allocated a classmark, a code describing the book's topic, which is printed on the spine or cover of the book. It is used to order the books on the shelves and bring together at the same place all books on the same topic.

The system at Lancaster uses capital letters to indicate different subjects.The main classmark for resources on the European Union is QZ.

Journals

Journals are arranged alphabetically by title at QZ65.  Other related journals are shelved with their subect, for example European Law Review is shelved with the law journals at S6.  Use OneSearch to find journal titles and to track down journal articles by subject.

Law reports

The Court of Justice ensures that Community law is uniformly applied throughout the EU in accordance with the provisions of the Treaties.  Do not confuse this with the European Court of Human Rights which is part of the Council of Europe, nor with the International Court of Justice which is a United Nations court.  The most important documents include:
