EndNote Web Guide

Information to help you get started using EndNote via the web

Introduction

EndNote Web and EndNote Classic Online are the web-based versions of EndNote, available over the internet for the organisation and management of bibliographic citations and references. It enables users to:

  • Save, organise and edit references in an EndNote Online library – My References
  • link to Word to cite references and create bibliographies

EndNote Web is only available to users of the desktop version of EndNote. The EndNote guide has further installation information.

Also online search filter that allows users to search thousands of resources, like PubMed, for references directly from the online account interface. This also includes the Share feature. This feature will enable users to share Groups with other EndNote users.

Which one should I choose?

If you are mainly going to be working on the web version and collaborating with other users remotely who might not have a full EndNote subscription, use EndNote Online.

If you are going to be using EndNote Desktop for the advanced functionality and instead want access to the latest web interface, use EndNote Web.

If you can however, always use EndNote Desktop. This is the software with the most functionality and does not rely on an Internet connection for managing your references.
