February is LGBT+ History Month and to inspire people to read about LGBT+ history, lives and culture we have created a LGBT+ History Month online resource list that includes fiction and non-fiction works that celebrate the breadth and depth of LGBT+ History Month. The books we have included in the list reflect on the LGBT+ experience in history and also in politics, the arts, science, philosophy and society past and present. This year the list also features section on famous LGBT+ figures, poetry and much more. We've also aimed to incorporate more books on asexuality, bisexuality, polyamory and gender fluidity.
We would love to receive suggestions to add to the list. If you know of a title that should be included in the list please let us know by completing our Request a Resource form or fill out one of the resource recommendation postcards (next to the LGBT+ History Month display in the Library)
The books below have all been recently purchased to improve LGBT+ representation in our collections.
